The Musician's Path

Musical instruments

Throughout his remarkable life, Eduard Ter Ghazaryan crafted over 600 musical instruments, including 30 completely unique designs - each a fusion of precision, artistry, and acoustic innovation.

Viola Pomposa

In the 18th century, German composer Johann Sebastian Bach envisioned a richer, more resonant string instrument and commissioned his luthier, Johann Christian Hoffmann, to build it. The result, known as the Viola Pomposa, was ambitious - but ultimately flawed. The instrument failed to produce the depth of sound Bach had hoped for and proved awkward for musicians to hold. It was quietly retired to a museum shelf, becoming rather myth than music. Over two centuries later, Eduard Ter Ghazaryan resurrected this forgotten dream. Working from Hoffmann’s original sketches, he corrected the design's technical flaws and brought the Viola Pomposa back to life - this time, with the rich, celebratory voice Bach had imagined. At last, the instrument lived up to its name: Pomposa - majestic, festive, and powerful.

Dvin Quartet

Later, the Master brought together his extraordinary handmade instruments to form the Dvin Musical Quartet, a groundbreaking ensemble that featured the revived Viola Pomposa—and another of his awe-inspiring inventions: a stringed organ with 120 resonators, capable of producing an astonishingly rich and powerful sound. The Quartet’s performances were unforgettable, their sonic depth unmatched. Whether performing solo or with Dvin, Maestro graced hundreds of stages, letting the voices of his one-of-a-kind creations ring proudly.

Peace weapons

Maestro hated war and channeled his genius into turning instruments of war into instruments of harmony. He crafted a series of musical instruments shaped like weapons – symbols of destruction transformed into sources of beauty and sound. The most iconic of them all was the Musical Automatic Rifle of Peace, with 40 miniature built-in replicas of traditional and classical instruments from around the globe. On this remarkable creation, he performed melodies from every corner of the world.

The Singing Violin
made of dough

Violin sculpted from specially treated dough, delicate yet resonant in spirit. At the scroll of the instrument, a single grain of wheat is affixed, engraved with the poetic inscription:

“I am wheat. I fed humanity with bread my whole life — now I sing softly.” Created in 2005, it is a tribute to both sustenance and song, a symbol of life transformed into art.
